UT State Champ Uriah Anderson | Wrestling Mindset Success Story | Wrestling Mindset Podcast

In this episode of the Wrestling Mindset Podcast, Gene Zannetti talks with Utah sophomore state champion Uriah Anderson about the biggest shift in his wrestling, which was taking the pressure off himself and letting go of the need to prove something to his parents.

Uriah explains his reset button, a double handshake between periods that helps him refocus, and describes beating a returning state finalist in the semifinals by staying loose and having fun in the match. As he puts it, it came down to wanting it more and enjoying the competition.

He also admits he thought the whole thing was stupid at first, and that it took about six months before he fully trusted his coach. He closes on his training preferences, favoring calisthenics over lifting because he wants to control his body the way Jack Forest does.
