In this episode of the Wrestling Mindset Podcast, Gene Zannetti talks with three-time Montana state champion and Wyoming commit Cael Floerchinger about starting mindset training in eighth grade, after struggling to treat every match the same way.
Cael describes three years of working on process over results and how that helped him stop holding himself back in big matches. He shares the advice that wrestling is what he does and not who he is, and admits that doubt still crept in at the state finals even after a dominant season.
He also talks about going to Virginia Beach with gratitude instead of expectations and winning a national title there. He closes on what drew him to Wyoming, where head coach Mark Branch's humility stood out to him more than his two NCAA titles did.
