Building a Hangout, Not a Factory | Jeremiah Webber | Wrestling Mindset Podcast

In this episode of the Wrestling Mindset Podcast, Gene Zannetti talks with Ohio club coach Jeremiah Webber about how wrestling pulled him out of a tough upbringing and led him through the Marine Corps and into a coaching calling.

Jeremiah describes building one of the first freestyle and Greco clubs in central Ohio from scratch into a pipeline that has sent more than 25 athletes to international Team USA spots. He explains why he prioritizes a family hangout culture over a grinding factory atmosphere, with gratitude at the center of it.

The conversation also covers the rise of social media and instant visibility, and the new mental pressure it creates for young wrestlers competing for recruiting attention. He makes the case that every wrestler needs to be comfortable in Greco and freestyle, since both expose technical flaws that folkstyle can hide, and points to why Valentin Kalika says the Greco to freestyle transition is easier than the reverse.
