You should complete each one of the exercises. You will learn what it means to be an athlete, choose a sport, join the team, train, compete, and maintain health and wellness in your spiritual life. You will be given exercises to strengthen your understanding of each topic. Like all good coaches, this book is meant to be straightforward and no-nonsense. It is not meant to simply tell you what you want to hear. This manual is geared towards leading you to victory! It is important to note that this training plan does not replace God’s grace, the sacraments, or prayer life. Building the Total Athlete for Christ is meant to be a useful tool for your spiritual needs – not an end-all-be-all. It is ultimately through God’s grace by which we can do even the smallest activities. Our victory is already won in Christ. Now we need to learn how to compete His way!
